Hello, lovelies!!! Happy January to you! My first review of 2018 will be on my January Ipsy Glam Bag.
For those of you who don’t know what Ipsy even is, its a monthly subscription bag that includes (5) beauty items ranging from skincare, hair care, beauty tools, and makeup items. You fill out a profile that asks questions about your skin tone, hair and eye color, hair type, and beauty preferences and sends you products based on your responses. The first few bags may not be entirely to your liking, but the more you review your products the better your bags become!
My January bag consisted of this beautiful navy mesh bag with lime green and pink neon stripes. I may use this in my gym bag to hold my facial wipes and travel toiletries. It’s super cute!
My bag items included:
- Ciaté London Fierce Flicks Liquid eyeliner
- Global Beauty Care Charcoal Wash Off Mask
- Hola Neon Velvet Liquid Lipstick in DF
- Dirty Little Secret Cosmetics eyeshadow in Sangria
- Vasanti Cosmetics Professional Contour Eyeshadow Brush #4
I created a look using all of my makeup products from my bag. I think it turned out rather nicely!
My eyes were primed with Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion in Eden like I always do.
Eyeshadows used: ABH Modern Renaissance Raw Sienna (transition), Cyprus Umber (crease and outer v), Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Vanilla Quartz (inner corner and under-brow highlight), DLS Sangria (all over lid), and Wet ‘n Wild eyeshadow in Crème brûlée for blending. I completed the eye look with the Ciaté London liner, Essence Lash Princess mascara, and Ardell Natural lashes in #110.
I was very pleased with how the Vasanti brush applied Cyprus Umber to my crease and outer v. The bristles were extremely soft, and it grabbed a lot of product with the slightest touch. I think it blended the shade beautifully.
Face products included: Benefit Porefessional Primer, Wet ‘n Wild Photo Focus Foundation in Shell Ivory, Tarte Park Ave Princess contour palette (Carat for contour, Princess Cut for bronzer), and Japonesque blush in #01.
Lip color: DF from Hola Neon. The lipstick had a very liquidy consistency, but had great opacity. It did not take long to set and it was super lightweight on the lips. My entire face was set using Urban Decay’s All-Nighter setting spray.

Photos at the end of 10 hours, right before removal.
After 10 hours of wear, I was very pleased with how my makeup looked. The DLS shadow had faded, but was still there. It just wasn’t as vibrant as I would have liked to see. The eyeliner was still as pigmented as upon initial application and had not budged or drifted. I loved that I could create super fine lines with this liner. The lipstick didn’t even feel like it was there. After eating and drinking at the party and snacking while gaming, my lips still looked bomb. I’d say all of these products are fantastic and worth looking into.
Of all my products this month, I was most excited about the charcoal mask! I love skincare and I am always looking for great finds that work and don’t break the bank. This mask was so creamy and mousy. I applied this with a flat foundation brush that has been designated as a mask brush since I began my love affair with my BeautyBlender. A little bit of this mask goes a long way. It felt fantastic on my skin, and did not feel overly tight as it dried down. Removal was a breeze! I used a moist washcloth, and it was not difficult at all. I did not need to wet the mask first. After removal, my skin did not feel overtly dry or tight. All of the excess oil was removed, like all of my other charcoal masks do, but without the feeling of needing to drench my face with a nightly moisturizer well before my bedtime. I would highly recommend this mask!

Overall, I’d say this month’s Glam Bag was a hit. It’s not every month I get a bag that is full of products that I love and will use in its entirety. My least favorite product would have to be the eyeshadow, but the color is gorgeous and I equate the fading to its being a metallic eyeshadow.
